In this session I created a model using a reference image of furniture. I started by choosing a suitable image to refer to, then created plane in 3DS Max using the same dimensions.
I then changed the view options on this object so that it is easier to edit another object around it. Below is the options I changed (Backface cull).
I then applied the reference image as a diffuse texture onto the plane.
Using a simple plane and then modifying it to shape out the door by making use of shift and drag, inset, extrude, connect and bridge. I decided to make the door handle and door knob as separate objects as it would be much easier. Below are the wireframe models of the base door model, the door knob and the door handle.
After combining all of the object together I created the finished reference model.
